🚗 Safe Drive SA – Driving Towards Safety and Confidence

At Safe Drive SA, we believe that every life matters. That’s why we’re committed to preventing crashes that result in death or serious injury by focusing on The Human Tolerance of Crash Impacts. We work together to ensure:

  • Safe vehicles
  • Safe road behaviours
  • Safe speeds
  • Safe-minded people

Most of our new clients come through word of mouth, and we take that trust seriously. Every learner receives individualized, high-quality training that meets Government Standards and prepares them for real-world driving—not just the test.

We’re here to teach skills that protect you, your friends, and your family. Our goal is to get you ready for your P’s as soon as possible, but we also understand that everyone learns at their own pace. We tailor each lesson to suit your needs, ensuring you feel confident, capable, and safe behind the wheel.

Let’s drive change—together.

Lesson Covered

Vort Driving Lessons, the lessons can be tailored to suit everyone’s needs, from Beginners with Zero driving experience, where Mum’s or Dad’s do not want to take the chance in the family vehicle, to those with hours of experience and just need some lessons to ensure they are prepared for the Test.

CBT&A can take more lessons, this can be done but will generally take longer by choosing this method. We will ensure you are ready for a test and build your confidence in the process.

Medical Assessments

Medical Assessments

Medical assessments can be covered for your GP through one of our Qualified instructors  if you require clearance before you can drive again, give us a call and we can assess your skills and train you before your assessment

Overseas Conversions

We can provide lessons to ensure you are at a level to sit the Practical Test; we can also assist with Theory and Hazards Perception training.

Some Countries Licenses can be transferred without Testing,

Other Countries require testing. Check with Service SA.

Before you can transfer your existing licence you will need to pass these tests:

Theory test

Hazard perception test

Practical driving test.

When you pass the tests, you'll receive a certificate of competency. Take this to a Service SA customer service Centre and apply for a South Australian driver's licence.

After you've paid the fee and had your photograph taken, you'll receive a temporary driver's licence and your photo licence will be posted to you.

The VORT Test

The Vort Test

The Vehicle On Road Test will test your skills and knowledge as a safe and competent driver. Your test will take approximately 45 minutes  to 1 hr and you will be required to demonstrate 5 low speed manoeuvres, (move off and stop, angle park, U-turn, 3-point turn and reverse parallel park) as well as a general drive. The general drive component will test your driving skills e.g. changing lanes, turning on and from busy roads, turning at traffic lights, negotiating roundabouts, stop and give-way signs, your interaction with other road users and the system of car control.

To pass a VORT you must demonstrate 5 slow speed manoeuvres and in combination with the general drive score a pass mark of 90% or more and not breach any road law during the drive. Any breach of road law will result in an immediate fail and the test will be terminated.

If you are unsuccessful your instructor will debrief you on the reasons why. A copy of the test marking sheet will be given to you detailing your performance.

CBTA (log book) option is also available
